To Apply for Canadian passport, you must be a citizen of Canada at least 16 years of age. In addition to preparing an application package and supporting documents, you must also find a guarantor and two references for your passport application. 

Both the guarantor and the references must have known you for at least 2 years and be available for contact should Canadian immigration authorities desire to speak to them.

The time for processing Canadian passport applications usually ranges from 10 to 20 business days plus mailing time.
