About spousal sponsorship appeals
If you submitted an application to sponsor a family member for permanent residence and received a refusal, you may have a right to appeal that decision in the Immigration Appeal Division of the Immigration & Refugee Board of Canada.
Who can appeal
You may appeal the refusal of your application to sponsor a family member for permanent residence in Canada if you are yourself a permanent resident or a citizen of Canada.
You have 30 days from the day you receive the refusal letter to start your sponsorship appeal.

Who cannot appeal
You are not allowed to appeal a refusal of the sponsorship application if the person you sponsored was found inadmissible on the grounds of serious criminality, organized crime, security grounds, violations of human and international rights.
You are also not allowed to appeal a refusal of the sponsorship application if the person you sponsored was found inadmissible on the grounds of misrepresentation (unless this person is your spouse, common-law partner or child).
