Start-Up Visa Program | Sokolov Immigration

This program is for immigrant entrepreneurs with skills and the potential to build a business in Canada. If you have an innovative business idea, you and four of your colleagues may immigrate to Canada if you get the support of a designated organization.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, you need to:

have a qualifying business (we will help you create a corporation in Canada);
manage your business from Canada and ensure that an essential part of your business happens in Canada (by the time you get the permanent residence status);
get a letter of support from a designated organization;
meet the language requirement (for English: IELTS General score of 5 in Listening, Writing and Speaking and 4 in Reading);
have enough money to settle (starting from CAD 12,960 for a single person and around 3,000 more for each next individual)

Designated Organizations

There are three types of designated organizations that can provide you with a letter of support:

Venture capital funds (they must agree to invest at least CAD 200,000 in your business);
Angel investor groups (they must agree to invest at least CAD 75,000 in your business);
Business incubators (you must be accepted into a program of a business incubators and graduate from it).

How We Can Help

We will help you perfect your original business idea;
We will work with Canadian business incubators to enroll you into a program;
We will fill out all application forms and prepare submissions to IRCC;
We will apply for an LMIA-exempt one-year work permit while you wait for your PR application in Canada under the Start-Up Visa Program to be processed (after you obtain the Letter of Support);
We will liaise with IRCC on your behalf representing your interests while the application is being processed.

The advantage of working with the business incubator means that you will not have to convince angel investors and venture capital funds to invest significant funds in your business idea. The only think you need is an original and innovative business idea.
